The ODI series is scheduled to take place from May 30 to June 4 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
According to the PCB, left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi will continue to captain the team, while Salman Ali Agha has been named vice-captain. The squad includes three uncapped ODI players — Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas and Rohail Nazir — who could make their international debut during the series.
The PCB said wicketkeeper-batters Muhammad Ghazi Ghori and Rohail Nazir were selected after Usman Khan was ruled out because of illness.
Meanwhile, opening batters Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub were not considered for selection as both continue rehabilitation programmes following injuries under the supervision of the PCB medical panel.
The Pakistan squad will assemble in Islamabad before beginning training sessions under the coaching staff from Saturday. Australia’s team is also expected to arrive in Islamabad shortly ahead of preparations for the series.
