The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed the hearing of sentence suspension applications filed by Advocate Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha in the controversial tweets case for June 1. Justice Muhammad Azam Khan issued a one-page written order, stating that a certified copy of the Supreme Court’s order has been submitted. According to the Supreme Court’s directive, a decision on the sentence suspension applications must be made within two weeks. The court issued notices to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) officials on the sentence suspension pleas for the June 1 hearing. Separately, the Islamabad High Court has constituted special benches to hear cases, appeals, and revision petitions pertaining to overseas Pakistanis, a notification issued by the Registrar’s Office said. According to the notification, the special benches include Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro. The benches have been formed on the orders of the Chief Justice to hear matters related to overseas Pakistanis. The special benches have been constituted under Sections 10 and 13 of the Establishment of Special Court (Overseas Pakistanis Property) Act 2024.
