Sources said Assistant Sub-Inspector Kafeel and Constable Ali Qureshi, both posted in the Civil Lines area, were taken into custody after reports surfaced regarding their alleged contacts with Anmol Pinky. The detained officials are currently being interrogated as investigators attempt to determine the nature and extent of their alleged association with the accused.
Authorities said further inquiries are ongoing and additional action could follow depending on the findings of the investigation.
The development comes days after Punjab Police formally launched investigations into several cases registered against Anmol Pinky and initiated legal steps for her transfer from Karachi to Lahore.
According to police officials, Lahore Police are seeking custody of the accused in five separate criminal cases registered over the past eight years. The Punjab Police Investigation Wing has reportedly requested permission from the provincial Home Department to present her before investigators.
Earlier this month, DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza directed authorities to audit the cases linked to Anmol Pinky to facilitate legal proceedings and her possible transfer to Punjab.
Police officials also stated that Anmol Pinky’s brothers, Nasir and Riaz, had previously been booked in separate cases registered at Iqbal Town and Kot Lakhpat police stations. Court challans in those cases have already been submitted, while trials involving the two brothers have been completed.
