FPCCI presents budget proposals to finmin

A delegation of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on Monday met with Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and presented recommendations for the Federal Budget 2026-27.

The FPCCI delegation was led by President FPCCI Atif Ikram Sheikh and included Senior Vice President Saqib Fayyaz Magoon, Vice Presidents Tariq Jadoon and Asif Sakhi, as well as Aman Paracha, Chairman of the FPCCI Policy Advisory Board, said a press release.

During the meeting, the delegation highlighted key issues being faced by the business community and discussed matters related to the Final Tax Regime, super tax, income tax and sales tax refunds.

Further tax, the Point of Sale (POS) system, and the powers of field formations were also discussed in order to enhance revenue base and development of trade and business activities in the country.

The delegation also briefed the finance minister on challenges confronting the cotton and edible oil sectors urged the need to address the issues faced the local business community for the rapid economic growth and social prosperity.

Speaking on the occasion, FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh described the federation’s budget proposals as a comprehensive and practical roadmap aimed at addressing Pakistan’s economic challenges. He urged the government to consider FPCCI’s recommendations and incorporate them into the upcoming federal budget to promote trade and business by encouraging the local industrial sector.

Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb appreciated the efforts of the FPCCI leadership in preparing the budget recommendations and termed the business community’s feedback constructive and valuable.

The finance minister reiterated the government’s commitment to meaningful consultation with stakeholders and assured the delegation that FPCCI’s proposals would be given due consideration during the formulation of the Federal Budget 2026-27.
