The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed bearish trend on Monday, losing 609.51 points, a negative change of 0.36 percent, closing at 170,506.31 points against 171,115.82 points on the last trading day, according to PSX data.
During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 1.103 billion shares with a traded value of Rs 31.044 billion, compared to 1.025 billion shares valuing Rs 36.667 billion in the previous session. The market capitalization declined to Rs 18.869 trillion from Rs 18.903 trillion a day earlier.
Out of 488 active companies in the ready market, 234 advanced, 215 declined, and 39 remained unchanged.
K-Electric topped the volume chart with 376.827 million shares, followed by Agha Steel Industries with 51.877 million shares and Cnergyico PK with 47.390 million shares. The top gainers included Nestle Pakistan Limited, which increased by Rs 230.52 to close at Rs 7,731.58, and PIA Holding Company LimitedB, which gained Rs 130.94 to settle at Rs 19,400.00.
On the losing side, Shahmurad Sugar Mills Limited declined by Rs 24.52 to close at Rs 395.17, while Hafiz Limited fell by Rs 16.01 to close at Rs 415.00.
In the futures market, 324 companies traded, of which 126 recorded gains, 194 declined, and 4 remained unchanged, according to PSX data.
