
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly rejected a statement by the British envoy regarding the Pakistan-Afghanistan border situation. The spokesperson said the remarks do not reflect ground realities. The response described the statement as one-sided and lacking proper understanding of the region.
The Foreign Office stated that the British envoy’s comments were based on incomplete and inaccurate information. It added that the complexities of the border and security situation were ignored. As a result, Pakistan said the remarks fail to present an accurate picture of events.

According to the statement, Pakistan had shown goodwill in March 2026 by announcing a temporary pause in operations. However, cross-border infiltration and attacks from Afghan territory reportedly continued. The spokesperson said these incidents led to civilian casualties and ongoing security challenges.
The ministry further said Pakistan responded with restraint and carried out targeted operations against militant hideouts. It added that multiple infiltration attempts were successfully prevented. Claims of Afghan civilian casualties were also dismissed as baseless and unverified.

Finally, Pakistan urged the international community to view the situation objectively. It emphasized recognition of Pakistan’s sacrifices in counterterrorism efforts. The Foreign Office said a fact-based and balanced approach is necessary for lasting peace in the region.
