Six people have been killed and two others injured in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, according to local reports, despite an ongoing ceasefire agreement that was meant to reduce hostilities in the region.

The strikes, carried out on Friday, hit multiple locations in southern Lebanon. Lebanese authorities and local sources confirmed the casualties, saying the attacks occurred even as diplomatic efforts continue to maintain the fragile truce between Israel and Hezbollah-linked areas.

The latest violence highlights growing concerns over repeated violations of the ceasefire, which has already faced criticism from both sides. While the agreement was intended to halt cross-border escalation, sporadic military actions have continued, raising fears of renewed wider conflict.
In response to the deteriorating humanitarian situation, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned that the broader regional conflicts involving Iran and Lebanon have displaced an estimated 32 million people. The agency said many health facilities across affected areas have been destroyed, damaged, or forced to shut down due to ongoing violence and insecurity.
The WHO further reported that disease outbreaks are increasing in Lebanon as medical shortages worsen. Access to essential medicines has become limited, placing additional pressure on already strained healthcare systems. The organisation said it urgently requires approximately $33 million in funding to respond to the worsening crisis and support emergency health operations.
Humanitarian agencies have repeatedly warned that continued instability in Lebanon and surrounding conflict zones is deepening civilian suffering, particularly among displaced populations who lack access to shelter, food, and healthcare services.
