First Hajj flight departs from Karachi today

Pakistan has officially launched its Hajj operations with the first flight departing from Karachi today. The launch marks the beginning of the annual pilgrimage season for thousands of Pakistani pilgrims. The development is significant as it enables a large-scale religious journey under government and private arrangements.

Governor Sindh and provincial ministers will see off the pilgrims at Karachi airport. The first group is travelling via a private airline under coordinated arrangements. Moreover, officials say preparations were completed to ensure a smooth departure process.

According to authorities, around 120,000 pilgrims will perform Hajj under the government scheme this year. An additional 50,000 pilgrims will travel through private operators. Furthermore, about 30,000 pilgrims will depart from Karachi alone under the official program.

Director Hajj Imtiaz Shah confirmed that all pilgrims have completed required vaccinations before travel. He added that accommodation and facilities have been arranged in Makkah for Pakistani pilgrims. Additionally, coordination teams have been deployed to assist pilgrims during their stay.

Authorities expressed confidence that the Hajj operation will proceed in an orderly manner. They expect smooth logistics throughout the pilgrimage period. However, officials also stressed continued monitoring to ensure comfort and safety for all pilgrims.
