The meeting comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following an inconclusive round of US-Iran talks held in Islamabad. The four countries are expected to discuss regional security, diplomatic coordination, and possible pathways to de-escalation.

In preparation for the high-level session, a Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) of the respective foreign ministries was held in Islamabad. Pakistan’s delegation was led by Tahir Andrabi, Additional Foreign Secretary and spokesperson. Delegations from the participating countries were headed by senior diplomats, including Musa Kulaklikaya, Nazih El Naggari, and Abdullah bin Khalid bin Saud Al-Kabeer Al Saud.
The SOM focused on finalising agenda items for the upcoming foreign ministers’ meeting, with discussions centred on regional stability, diplomatic engagement, and cooperation among the four nations. The deliberations are expected to be presented at the ministerial-level talks in Antalya.
Following the SOM, the visiting delegations jointly met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch. During the meeting, Ishaq Dar appreciated the strong and brotherly ties among the four countries and highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts on key regional and global issues.

He emphasised the need to develop a cooperative framework focusing on shared goals such as peace, economic development, and regional prosperity. The upcoming meeting is expected to play a key role in shaping a unified diplomatic approach to ongoing challenges in the Middle East.
