Pakistan Navy inducts advanced PNS Khyber

Pakistan has strengthened its maritime defense with the induction of the second MILGEM-class PNS Khyber, equipped with advanced and unique technologies. The addition enhances the Navy’s capabilities to protect national waters and secure critical sea lines of communication. Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf emphasized the importance of modern platforms in defending Pakistan’s strategic maritime interests.

The formal ceremony marking PNS Khyber’s induction was attended by Admiral Ashraf, highlighting the Navy’s commitment to operational readiness and technological advancement. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the fleet now includes state-of-the-art platforms capable of targeting critical enemy infrastructure and maritime assets effectively.

Admiral Ashraf stated that Pakistan’s location along key global energy sea routes makes maritime security a top priority. He said a strong naval force is essential to safeguard national interests and secure trade routes. The Navy’s modern assets ensure swift and decisive response to any threat in Pakistan’s waters.

The Naval Chief also affirmed that the Pakistan Navy was fully prepared to neutralize threats such as India’s aircraft carrier Vikrant, reinforcing a deterrent posture. He added that future Hangor-class submarines, along with PNS Khyber, would act as a formidable shield for national maritime defense.

Admiral Ashraf reiterated Pakistan Navy’s dedication to defending sovereign maritime boundaries and protecting the country’s autonomous waters. He emphasized that ongoing modernization and technological integration would keep the Navy capable of responding to evolving regional and global maritime challenges.
