A high-level meeting was held to address pressing healthcare challenges across the district, with officials outlining key steps to improve medical services and infrastructure.
The session was jointly chaired by Special Secretary of Health Sheikh Shehdad and Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Naqeebullah Kakar, bringing together senior officials including Assistant Commissioner Pasni Khusro Dilawari, District Health Officer Dr. Yasir Tahir, MS Mir Abdul Ghafoor Teaching Hospital Dr. Hafeez Baloch, CEO GDA Hospital Dr. Affan Faiqzada, and other health professionals.
According to a news release, the meeting discussed the expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), malaria and dengue control, maternal and child health services, and the National Health Program.
Numerous vacant posts for doctors, paramedics, gynecologists, Medical Officers (MOs), and Lady Medical Officers (LMOs).
Authorities assured supplies would reach affected areas by April 10. Repairs and maintenance of THQs, RHCs, and BHUs were reviewed.
Residential facilities for doctors, operationalization of Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum Hospital in Jiwani, and hostel issues at the nursing college.
The Special Secretary and Deputy Commissioner directed all relevant authorities to ensure timely implementation of measures, stressing that improving healthcare services remains a top priority to guarantee public access to quality medical care.
