A drone attack in Bahrain has injured several civilians and damaged homes, authorities said, as tensions across the Middle East continue to escalate amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior confirmed that the strike occurred in the Sitra area, where several citizens were wounded. One person was reported to be in serious condition following the attack. The incident also caused structural damage to a number of residential properties.

Officials described the strike as part of what they called “blatant Iranian aggression” and said security agencies had launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities are also coordinating emergency response measures to protect residents and assess the full extent of the damage.
Earlier, the ministry had issued a public alert after warning sirens were activated in parts of the country. Citizens and residents were urged to remain calm and move to the nearest safe location while emergency teams monitored the situation.
The attack comes amid heightened regional tensions following large-scale military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets that began on February 28. Iran has since responded with waves of missile and drone attacks directed at Israel and at Gulf countries that host US military facilities.
Bahrain, which hosts the United States Navy’s Fifth Fleet, has been on heightened alert as regional hostilities intensify. Defence officials say the country’s air defence systems have been actively intercepting incoming threats.

The Bahrain Defence Force said in a statement that its forces had successfully destroyed dozens of missiles and drones since the start of the current escalation. According to the military, air defence units intercepted 75 missiles and 123 drones aimed at the kingdom.
Officials praised the armed forces for maintaining a high level of operational readiness and vigilance, emphasising their role in protecting the country and safeguarding national security during the ongoing regional crisis.
