Clinton prepare for congress testimony in Epstein investigation

Published on: February 26, 2026 6:44 AM

Former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton finalize agreement to testify in House Epstein probe - ABC7 Los Angeles

Former US President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are set to testify before Congress as part of an ongoing investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The depositions, scheduled at their home in Chappaqua, New York, mark a significant legal development decades after the Clintons left the White House.

The testimony follows months of legal resistance from the Clintons, who initially sought to avoid in-person questioning and criticized the probe as politically motivated. However, they agreed to testify after the House Oversight Committee moved toward holding them in criminal contempt of Congress. The committee’s chairman, James Comer, said lawmakers have questions about Epstein’s connections and broader issues related to federal investigations and ethics.

Bill Clinton has acknowledged past interactions with Epstein, including traveling on his private plane multiple times, but he has never been charged with wrongdoing. His representatives have said he cut ties with Epstein years before Epstein’s 2019 arrest on federal sex trafficking charges. Hillary Clinton has stated she never met Epstein and has questioned the relevance of her testimony.

Lawmakers are expected to question the Clintons on several topics, including the federal government’s handling of Epstein’s case, efforts to combat sex trafficking, and Epstein’s relationships with influential figures. The depositions will be recorded and could be released publicly after review.

The investigation reflects a shifting political climate, with lawmakers from both parties emphasizing transparency and accountability. Survivors of Epstein’s crimes and their legal representatives have called for full cooperation from public figures connected to the case, stressing the importance of uncovering facts and ensuring justice.
