PESHAWAR: A CPEC policeman was reportedly kidnapped, and his house set on fire by armed militants in the Dogar Umarzai area of Bannu district, authorities said. Around 40 to 50 militants allegedly stormed the residence of Constable Qadeer, destroying three rooms and household belongings before abducting him, causing panic among his family and local residents. Police have launched investigations into the incident from multiple angles.

In a separate attack late Thursday night, unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at the residence of Ihsan Khattak, former president of the Bannu Press Club and ARY News correspondent. No casualties were reported. Khattak told authorities that suspicious motorcyclists had been seen near his home previously, and he had already filed a complaint at Saddar Police Station. He clarified that he has no personal disputes or enmity with anyone.
The journalist also revealed that he had previously received threatening calls from Afghan numbers linked to his reporting work. The attacks have raised concerns over security in Bannu, particularly for law enforcement personnel and journalists.
