Cars’ sale, production up by 44.74%, 57.46% respectively during seven months

The sale and production of cars in the country witnessed an increase of 44.74 and 57.46 percent respectively during the first seven months of current fiscal year 2025-26 as compared to corresponding period of last year. During the July-January 2025-26, as many as 84,512 cars were sold against the sale of 58,385 units while the production of cars increased from 58,915 units to 92,772 units, showing growth of 44.74 and 57.46 percent respectively, said Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA).

Among cars, the sale of Honda cars increased by 61.25 percent from 8,389 units during last year to 13,528 units during current year while Toyota Corolla and Toyota Yaris cars sale also grew by 53.74 percent from 11,782 units to 20,798 units. The sale of Suzuki Swift went up from 4,644 units to 8,921 units, showing an increase of 92.07 percent whereas the sale of Hyundai Elantra increased to 1,550 units from 760 units. The sale of Suzuki Cultus surged to 2,963 units from 1,605 during last year whereas the sale of Suzuki Alto also increase to 31,172 units from 24,633 units.

The sale of Suzuki Every witnessed an increase of 239.46 percent from 1,467 units against 4,980 units. Meanwhile, 177 units of the newly launched Dewan Honri-VE electric vehicle were sold during July-January 2025-26.

On the other hand, the production of Honda cars went up by 69.46 percent from 8,227 units to 13,942 units during the months under review whereas the production of Toyota Corolla and Toyota Yaris cars also increased by 85.27 percent from 11,765 units to 21,798 units. The production of Suzuki Swift also rose from 4,805 units to 9,217 units, showing growth of 91.82 percent whereas the production of Hyundai Elantra increased to 1,877 units from 883 units.

The production of Suzuki Cultus increased to 2,619 units during the months under review from 1,591 units while the production of Suzuki Alto also increased to 39,562 units this year from 24,318 units during last year, it added.

The production of Suzuki Every rose by 1.82 percent from 3,281 units to 3,341 units this year.
