Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra likely to launch in January 2026 with upgraded design and faster performance - The Economic Times

Samsung has lifted the curtain on its highly anticipated Galaxy S26 Ultra, revealing key features of the flagship model through a series of teasers ahead of its official launch on February 25.

One of the standout additions is the Privacy Screen, built using the Flex Magic Pixel OLED display. The feature ensures that screen content is not visible from side angles, protecting sensitive information from prying eyes. Samsung has emphasised that the Privacy Screen is designed to safeguard personal data, including passwords and financial details, in public spaces such as buses or elevators. Animated teasers shared by tipster @IceUniverse showed how screen content appears to vanish when viewed from certain angles.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is also expected to come with enhanced AI capabilities, hinted at in Samsung’s teasers, highlighting the device as a next-generation “AI Phone” capable of intelligent, context-aware functions.

In terms of specifications, the device will feature a 6.9-inch QHD+ OLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels. Performance will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor coupled with 12GB of RAM, while storage options are expected to range from 256GB to 1TB. Rumours suggest the phone will continue with a 5,000 mAh battery, marking the seventh consecutive year for this capacity.

The camera system is set to include a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, making it one of the most advanced imaging setups in Samsung’s lineup. Pricing is anticipated to start at $1,299 for the 256GB variant, with higher storage models commanding a premium.
