Ishaq Dar secures UAE investment, strengthens regional ties

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held high-level meetings in Dubai to boost UAE investment in Pakistan and enhance regional cooperation. Discussions focused on trade, investment, and telecommunications, reflecting both countries’ interest in deepening economic ties.

Ishaq Dar met with Etisalat Chairman Jassem Mohammed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi and the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance. Talks included expansion plans for Etisalat in Pakistan and the future development of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL). Both sides agreed on the early resolution of PTCL-related issues to encourage sustained investment.

In addition to UAE engagements, Ishaq Dar received a call from Iranian Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araqchi. They discussed regional and global developments, reaffirming the importance of ongoing consultations and regular communication between Pakistan and Iran.

Iran expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s stance at the UN Human Rights Council, including its vote against the resolution targeting Iran. Araqchi praised the Pakistani government, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the people for their continued support.

Both Pakistan and Iran reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and agreed to maintain mutual consultations on regional and international issues. The meetings signal a concerted effort to bolster economic and diplomatic relations in South Asia and the Gulf region.
