Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, said that the Sindh government firmly believes in democratic values and is implementing a policy of free movement across the province. He stated that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was welcomed by the Sindh government upon his arrival and would have complete freedom to carry out political and official activities in Sindh.
Speaking in a statement and to private media, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be provided full security and protocol. He clarified that the government’s position is that the Chief Minister of KP should inform the Sindh government about his visit schedule. If a venue is required for any meeting or event, the Sindh government will facilitate it. However, it will be ensured that no activity violates the law or causes inconvenience to the public.
The senior minister Shajreel Inam Memon said that the Sindh government is prepared to provide all possible facilities within the framework of the law. He added that ideological and political differences between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the Pakistan Peoples Party exist, but differences of opinion and criticism are accepted in democratic societies. If PTI chooses to criticize, it has that right, and the PPP also has the right to respond politically. Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the situation was different during the rule of Imran Khan, when criticism on a talk show would often be followed by NAB notices or arrests the next day. He said that such practices will not be adopted in Sindh and that criticism will be tolerated within the bounds of political ethics.
He criticized Imran Khan’s stance regarding the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and said that Imran Khan’s narrative in favor of the Taliban is well known. He said that Imran Khan had spoken about opening Taliban offices, despite the fact that these are the same terrorist elements who have spared no one in Pakistan, targeted innocent schoolchildren, attacked mosques and Imambargahs, assaulted people of different schools of thought and politicians, and carried out widespread terrorism across the country.Sharjeel Inam Memon said that such elements must be dealt with strictly, but PTI has consistently shown a soft approach toward them, which the PPP strongly opposes. He said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari refers to Imran Khan as “Taliban Khan” in this context, as Imran Khan’s policies have repeatedly favored extremist elements.
He added that these same elements continue to take the lives of innocent citizens in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and that the situation there remains alarming. He said that police stations close after sunset in the province and that an undeclared curfew-like situation exists.
He said it is the responsibility of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to protect the lives and property of its people, rather than facilitating elements that have become a source of suffering for the public.
