Disney unveils Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim as Rapunzel and Flynn in live-action Tangled

Published on: January 8, 2026 4:10 PM

Disney has officially revealed the stars who will bring Rapunzel and Flynn Rider to life in its upcoming live-action reimagining of Tangled. On Wednesday, December 7, the studio announced that Australian actress Teagan Croft and American actor Milo Manheim will step into the beloved fairy tale roles, exciting fans of the 2010 animated classic.

Croft, 21, rose to fame portraying Raven in HBO Max’s DC series Titans, while Manheim, 24, is best known for playing Zed in Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise. Manheim is also the son of Emmy-winning actress Camryn Manheim. Together, the duo promises to inject fresh energy into the iconic story, originally brought to life by the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi.

The live-action adaptation is set to be directed by Michael Gracey, celebrated for helming The Greatest Showman. Reports suggest that Scarlett Johansson is in talks to play Mother Gothel, the villainous captor of Rapunzel, though Disney has not confirmed any additional casting or the release timeline.

The announcement comes as Disney continues its successful streak of live-action remakes. Last year, Lilo & Stitch earned over $1 billion globally, following other hits such as Snow White starring Rachel Zegler and The Little Mermaid with Halle Bailey. Fans are already speculating about how Gracey’s direction and the new leads will reinterpret the classic songs and story that made Tangled a household favorite.

With Croft and Manheim stepping into the tower, anticipation is building for Disney’s next fairy tale adventure, blending nostalgia for the animated original with a fresh, modern take for a new generation of audiences.
