Five terrorists eliminated in decisive Kohlu action

Published on: December 26, 2025 9:43 PM

Security forces eliminated five Indian-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Kohlu district, Balochistan, after confirmed reports indicated their presence in the area on December 25. Troops moved swiftly to cordon off the location, secured surrounding routes, and ensured civilian safety before launching a calculated and decisive assault against the militant hideout. Following a fierce exchange of fire, all five terrorists were neutralised, reinforcing the state’s firm resolve to counter externally backed militancy and restore peace in sensitive regions.

During the operation, forces recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives, clearly indicating the terrorists’ direct involvement in repeated violent activities across the region. Officials said the seized material confirmed that the group posed a serious and immediate threat to local security, infrastructure, and civilian lives. Afterwards, troops carried out a comprehensive clearance operation to eliminate any remaining threats and prevent militants from escaping or regrouping nearby.

Meanwhile, authorities reiterated that the nationwide counterterrorism campaign will continue at full pace without pause or compromise. Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain fully aligned in dismantling terrorist networks and denying them operational space across the country. This sustained strategy aims to strengthen internal security through intelligence-led actions and long-term disruption of militant support systems.

The Kohlu operation followed another successful raid a day earlier in Kalat district, where eight terrorists were killed during a similar intelligence-based operation. These back-to-back actions highlight an intensified operational tempo and improved intelligence coordination against militant elements operating in Balochistan. Officials stressed that timely strikes remain critical to disrupting planned attacks before they reach execution stages.

Pakistan has witnessed a noticeable rise in terrorist incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since 2021, increasing both security and diplomatic challenges. Islamabad has repeatedly urged Afghan authorities to prevent militant groups from using their territory for cross-border attacks into Pakistan. The government has reaffirmed its right to defend sovereignty and protect citizens by taking all necessary measures against terrorism.
