The president declared that the US economy had transformed from stagnant to the “hottest” in the world, asserting that his measures restored American strength and global standing. He highlighted his administration’s focus on national security, economic growth, and job creation.

Trump delivered the address a day before the Bureau of Labor Statistics released a report on inflation. While annual inflation had dropped to a four-year low of 2.3% in April, it has been gradually rising since, challenging his economic claims.
