Farewell salute: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza honored for 40 years of service

Islamabad: Pakistan held a farewell ceremony for General Sahir Shamshad Mirza at the Joint Staff Headquarters. He received a full guard of honor in recognition of his 40 years of military service. Senior officers and former chairmen of the Joint Chiefs attended the event to pay tribute to his dedication.

During the ceremony, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) highlighted General Mirza’s long-standing contributions to Pakistan’s defense. Officials praised his leadership and commitment to maintaining national security amid evolving regional challenges. The event emphasized the importance of strong armed forces in safeguarding the country.

General Mirza expressed gratitude for the recognition and thanked his colleagues and the nation for support throughout his career. The ceremony included tributes to soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan. Families of martyrs were honored, and the event highlighted the armed forces’ ongoing commitment to the nation. Officials noted that such ceremonies reflect respect for service, discipline, and patriotism.
