The deal also includes air defence systems, radar equipment, and drones. Ukrainian officials say the agreement strengthens Kyiv’s capabilities against Russian aggression and marks a historic step in military cooperation.
The letter of intent sets the framework for possible contracts over a period of about 10 years. It is not a direct purchase yet but outlines future deliveries. Zelensky called the deal “historic,” while Macron emphasized it would help Ukraine respond effectively to Russian attacks.
