
Tajikistan’s Defence Minister, Colonel General Sobirzoda Emomali Abdulrahim, met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, at GHQ in Rawalpindi to discuss enhancing bilateral defence cooperation. The meeting focused on regional security and counter-terrorism strategies.
Both sides expressed strong commitment to expanding military-to-military collaboration, particularly in training programs, joint exercises, and intelligence sharing. Officials emphasized that closer ties would bolster preparedness against emerging security threats in the region.

During the discussions, Emomali praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Army and acknowledged its contribution to maintaining peace and stability across South and Central Asia. He highlighted the importance of sustained dialogue to strengthen mutual trust between the two armies.
Field Marshal Munir underlined Pakistan’s readiness to work with Tajikistan on collective regional security initiatives. He emphasized the need for cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts and disaster response, calling it crucial for ensuring stability and prosperity in the region.

Moreover, both sides agreed to explore new avenues for defence collaboration, including officer exchange programs, joint military exercises, and capacity-building workshops to enhance operational efficiency and knowledge sharing between their forces.
