
ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a new spell of rain, wind, and thunderstorms, along with snowfall over the mountains, beginning from November 4 in the upper parts of the country.
According to the Met Office, a westerly wave is likely to approach the northern regions on the night of November 3 and persist till November 5, bringing a significant drop in temperatures across northern and central Pakistan.

Under the system’s influence, widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjoining areas, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, and Lahore. The PMD has also warned of isolated hailstorms and possible lightning, advising caution for travelers, especially in hilly areas due to slippery conditions.
The department added that fog and smog currently affecting Punjab are likely to ease temporarily during the rainy spell but may return after the weather clears. Farmers have been urged to plan their agricultural activities accordingly.
