Officials confirmed that the internet blackout is a precautionary measure aimed at preventing potential misuse of online platforms during the ongoing security operations. Authorities believe that temporary restrictions will help law enforcement agencies maintain control and prevent the spread of misinformation or coordination among suspected criminal elements. Residents, however, have reported difficulties in communication, online business transactions, and accessing digital services due to the outage.
Sources within the Home Department stated that the suspension was recommended after a detailed security briefing highlighted possible threats in and around Quetta. Although the duration of the shutdown has not been officially announced, the measure is expected to remain in place until the situation stabilizes. The provincial government has assured that the services will be restored as soon as security conditions allow.
