
The Punjab government has officially approved a ‘smart syllabus’ for students of grades 9 and 10, offering them much-needed relief ahead of the upcoming matriculation exams. Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that the decision aims to reduce the academic burden on students while maintaining educational quality and exam standards. The new syllabus has been designed to help students focus on key concepts and important topics without feeling overwhelmed by lengthy course material.
According to the minister, the revised smart syllabus will be available for download on the School Education Department’s official website starting today. He further stated that the syllabus for 11th-grade students is also being prepared and will be uploaded next week. This step is part of the provincial government’s broader effort to modernize the education system and make learning more manageable for students facing examination stress and academic pressure.

The initiative was introduced after feedback from teachers, students, and parents highlighted the challenges of completing the full syllabus within limited academic sessions.
