Punjab CM lauds Türkiye, Azerbaijan for always standing by Pakistan

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif warmly welcomed visiting parliamentary delegations from Türkiye and Azerbaijan, led respectively by Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, H.E. Professor Dr. Numan Kurtulmu? and Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, H.E. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova.

She She lauded Türkiye and Azerbaijan for their unwavering support to Pakistan, particularly for their principled stance on Kashmir issue and their strong condemnation of recent Indian aggression.

Chief Minister Punjab expressed her deep appreciation for Türkiye and Azerbaijan for consistently extending unconditional support to Pakistan on global platforms. She emphasized that the trilateral partnership of Pakistan, Türkiye and Azerbaijan goes beyond diplomacy which encompasses bonds of shared faith, history and values. During the meeting, matters relating to enhancing cooperation in key sectors like education, health and information technology were discussed. The visiting dignitaries expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for extending generous hospitality and warm reception to them in Punjab.

Chief Minister Punjab noted while expressing her views on Pakistan’s cordial relations with Türkiye and Azerbaijan, “Türkiye and Azerbaijan are more than brotherly nations for us. They have always stood by Pakistan in every hour of need. Our trilateral cooperation is a welcome step towards regional peace, stability and development.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said while highlighting salient features of governance system in Punjab, “We have introduced KPI-based governance model in Punjab inspired by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an’s visionary leadership.

She duly acknowledged visits of the distinguished parliamentary delegations from various countries in the province as a manifestation of unity, dialogue and mutual respect within the Muslim Ummah. She expressed hope that the current visit would mark the beginning of a deeper cooperation between the parliaments, people and governments of Pakistan, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan.

Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, H.E. Professor Dr. Numan Kurtulmu? said while sharing his remarks on the occasion,”We stand firmly by Pakistan. We are ready to cooperate in every sector, including education. We profoundly thank Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for extending her warm welcome and outstanding hospitality.” Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova said, “Punjab, especially Lahore, is a beautiful region. We are delighted to pay a visit to this rich historical and cultural city. Overall development in Punjab, particularly in health and education sectors is highly impressive.” Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said that trilateral relations between Pakistan, Türkiye and Azerbaijan is highly promising while Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also extended a warm welcome to the distinguished visiting delegations.

The meeting reaffirmed that Pakistan highly values the principled support and stand of Türkiye and Azerbaijan on Kashmir issue and emphasized that such high-level exchanges will further strengthen historical, political and cultural ties among the three nations.
