US spends $21B supporting Israel’s Gaza war

Published on: October 7, 2025 5:14 PM

A new report reveals the United States spent over $21 billion supporting Israel’s war in Gaza. Brown University’s Cost of War Project published the findings. The report says Israel heavily depended on US financial and military aid. Experts emphasize Israel “could not have fought the Gaza war without US support.” This aid included weapons, defense systems, and military stockpiles.

According to the report, the US supplied $8.12 billion in weapons and $5 billion in defense systems to Israel. Another $4.4 billion in weapons came directly from American military reserves. These massive arms supplies have drawn worldwide attention. Many analysts question Washington’s role in escalating the conflict. The report highlights the significant scale of US involvement in the war.

Meanwhile, Gaza authorities disclosed tragic human losses caused by Israeli attacks. More than 67,000 Palestinians died due to bombings since the war began. The report notes that 1,701 medical workers were killed and 362 arrested by Israeli forces. Hunger also claimed 460 Palestinian lives, including 154 children. These figures underscore the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Gaza’s healthcare system faces collapse amid ongoing violence. Twenty-five hospitals have been destroyed, and over 100 health centers no longer operate. Overcrowded hospitals now treat more than two patients per bed. Medical resources run dangerously low, worsening the health emergency. This situation paints a grim picture of the region’s suffering.

The Brown University report has sparked global debate about US military aid. Critics say Washington’s support enabled Israel’s prolonged and intense offensive. The Cost of War Project continues to track human and financial costs of US-involved conflicts. Many call for reassessing America’s role in promoting peace in the region. The report adds urgency to the international push for conflict resolution.
