
Pakistan militant attacks 2025 declined in September, though overall violence remains high, according to reports by PICSS and CRSS. Security forces carried out multiple operations, pushing militants on the back foot.

September recorded 69 militant attacks, a 52% drop from August’s 143. These incidents caused 135 deaths and 173 injuries, including security personnel and civilians. Militants also abducted at least 27 people.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remained the most affected province. It saw 45 attacks causing 54 deaths and 49 injuries. Security forces killed 88 militants in counterterrorism operations, though five personnel also died.
Balochistan reported 21 attacks that killed 79 people and injured 122. Militants abducted 14 individuals. Sindh experienced only three attacks, leaving two security personnel dead and two civilians injured.

Despite the September drop, CRSS noted that 2025 is nearly as deadly as 2024, with 2,414 fatalities in three quarters. Analysts warn the year could become one of the deadliest in a decade.
