Commerce minister reviews measures against possible floods

A meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s House, Dadu, under the chairmanship of Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce and Focal person Right Bank Sukkur Barrage, Jam Ikramullah Dharejo. Elected representatives from Dadu and senior District officials, Including Deputy Commissioner Dadu SSP Dadu attended the meeting. The Sindh Minister, Jam Ikramullah Dharejo, was briefed on the measures taken to deal with the anticipated flood situation. Expressing satisfaction over arrangements, he said that floodwaters should be monitored around the clock “Every possible measure should be taken to protect against flood damage. The safety of human lives and livestock must be ensured.” The Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce said the Sindh Government is fully prepared for a super flood. He further stated that, under the directions of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, members of the Sindh Cabinet are visiting all embankments. “Residents of Katcha (riverine) areas must be shifted to safe locations.” The meeting was also attended by PPP District President MPA Pir Mujeeb-ul-Haq, General Secretary MPA Fayaz Butt, MPA Zubair Ahmed jonejo along with all four MPAs of the district and Chairman District Council Later, Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce Jam Ikramullah Dharejo also inspected the embankment and spoke to the media on the occasion.
