IAEA confirms Israeli attack on Iran’s natanz nuclear site

Published on: June 13, 2025 3:11 PM

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that Israel recently struck Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility. The agency is closely monitoring the situation and staying in contact with Iranian officials.

IAEA reported no rise in radiation levels at Natanz. They said the attack did not damage the critical nuclear equipment or cause any radioactive contamination. Officials also confirmed that other major nuclear sites like Bushehr, Fordow, and Esfahan remained safe and were not targeted.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media backed the IAEA’s statement, saying there was no nuclear pollution after the strikes. Despite the military actions, Iran’s nuclear program installations remain operational and secure without immediate risk.

Israel launched a major military operation against Iran, hitting nuclear and military sites across the country. The strikes killed several top commanders of the Revolutionary Guards and six nuclear scientists, significantly raising regional tensions.

Among the casualties were Major General Hossein Salami and General Bagheri, key military leaders. This sharp escalation has drawn concern and condemnation from many countries worldwide, fearing wider conflict in the region.
