Arabic paper in CSS

Published on: April 3, 2014 7:00 PM

Sir: Since 2011, the Arabic paper of CSS has been a matter of concern for the candidates who take Arabic as one of the optional subjects. Sometimes it is partially designed out of course while at other times it carries no relevance to the course. In the examination held in 2014, leaving out two questions, Arabic paper ‘B’ was totally out of course. According to the format of the paper, four questions could be answered from the ‘prescribed poetry’ of the pre-Islamic period and four odes of Hassan bin Thabit. But it was a deadly blow to the students when they saw that the poetry portion in the paper was removed completely. Similarly, omitting the option of attempting the paper in Urdu without prior notice was another problem for those students who had studied Arabic Literature in Urdu. Most of the students left the examination hall within half an hour.

The incessant violation of rules by the FPSC shows that the institution has no concern with the future of the students. Papers must be prepared from the course prescribed by FPSC and if changes are to be made then students should be informed in time.
