ISLAMABAD: Planning, Development and Reform Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday said that improved image of the country would help for attracting foreign investment. Chairing a meeting of top advertising agencies, he said the biggest beneficiary would be private sector to thrive on increased foreign investment. “Advertising agencies should work in synergy with the government to promote brand Pakistan. Time has come to think positive and say positive about Pakistan,” he added. Without the power of positive approach, no country can grow Ahsan Iqbal observed that now the world has stopped seeing Pakistan through security lens but a country attracting investment. He described Pakistani diaspora an important player in branding the country internationally. They can reach to masses in different country to communicate the positive aspects of the country, he added. He said that brand Pakistan would highlight positive attributes of the country and make it attractive destination for investment after turnaround in political, security and economic fronts in last two years. This initiative will introduce the country to outside world through the passion and contribution of the people of Pakistan in fields of culture, food, sports, arts, business, academia and technology. He particularly mentioned the youth of the country that has deep passion and said the new generation can play a pivotal role to make this Pakistan initiative a success. Ahsan Iqbal said that this initiative would be done in phases. First phase will show the world that Pakistan is country with many shades and colours having rich culture and heritage, he added. He said brand Pakistan is part of Vision-2025, which has been devised for sustainable and inclusive growth in the country. “Vision-2025 is a key strategic initiative to transform the economy of 200 million people into knowledge economy for inclusive development and shared prosperity,” the minister added.
