ISLAMABAD: 45 Pakistanis who are stranded in Tashkuergan in Xinjiang province due to inclement weather are in good health. A two-member team of Pakistan embassy in Beijing, which reached Kashgar to assist the stranded people, is closely coordinating with the Chinese Foreign Office and local authorities in Kashgar as well as the Pakistanis. The visa issues faced by some of them are being taken care of with the assistance of Chinese authorities. Pakistanis in Tashkuergan shall be traveling to Kashgar where embassy officials would facilitate them. Subsequently, they will be repatriated by air from Urumqi to Islamabad as and when flights are available. It is expected that the first batch may leave on April 14 for Pakistan. In the meantime, necessary assistance will be extended to them.
