The management of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre once again condemns the baseless accusations regarding the investments of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust. It is regrettable that a globally acclaimed charitable institution is being unnecessarily targeted by some politicians for their political motives. It is pertinent to mention here that all details regarding this matter have been previously shared in depth with the public.
The investment was made by SKMT for its endowment fund on the recommendations of the Investment committee. This investment was clearly reflected in the audited accounts when it was made and now it is visible in the accounts when it has been returned in full. These transactions were and are publicly viewable on the organization’s website. The existence of this investment was transparent and not a secret revealed by some third party. The management again appeals to all the politicians not to involve this credible organization into any sort of politics and let it achieve its goal to serve the humanity.
