LARKANA: A Constitutional Petition No: D-507 of 2017 has been filed in the Sindh High Court Circuit Court, Larkana, through advocate Habibullah Ghouri, by Ihsan Ali son of Muhammad Ibrahim Dayo, resident of Nazar Muhalla, Larkana, against respondents SHO Rahmatpur police station, SSP, Commanding Officer Rangers, Deputy Director Intelligence, Larkana & Government of Sindh through Inspector general of Police. The petitioner stated in his petition that on 29.5.2017 at about 11 am the officials of the respondents/law enforcing agencies came in a white Toyota Vigo vehicle and raided the tailor shop of detainee Insaf Ali who is the brother of the petitioner and arrested him and took him to Rahmatpur police station and confined him there. There-after the detainee was taken away from the police lock up by the respondents to an unknown place and when the petitioner approached them he was informed that the detainee is required for inquiry as he had remained an activist of Jeeay Sindh Tehreek during his student life. The petitioner stated that there is serious potential for bodily harm to the life & liberty of the detainee Insaf Ali as the respondents have declared to kill the detainee by showing a false police encounter. The detainee is a tailor master, he further submitted, that there has been absolutely no criminal case whatsoever against him throughout his life and that he has never indulged himself in any criminal activity hence the action of the respondents is illegal. The petitioner prayed to the court to issue a writ of Heabas Corpus/rule nisi directing the respondents to produce the detainee kept by them under unlawful confinement. The petitioner told media here on Friday that notices have been issued to the respondents to file their comments on the next date of hearing which is the 8th of June, 2017.
