LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) senior central leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has held Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif responsible for the toxic sweets deaths in Layyah. Talking to media personnel on Monday, he said, “Had the 200-bed hospital in Layyah and trauma centre in Fatehpur, established by our government made functional by the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the precious lives could have been saved.” Catering to the medical needs of the people living in four districts of south Punjab including Layyah, he said the trauma centre was established with a total outlay of Rs 180 million. However, he lamented that the chief minister stopped work on the project, which was established by the PML-Q government keeping in view the deprivation of the people living in the southern Punjab.
