Mian A Majeed was married to Sita Majeed. They had a class fellow who was the Indian music composer Jaidev. The main cast of this film included Yasmin, Aslam, Nazar, Nighat Sultana, and Jafri. The hallmark of Muslehuddin’s music was the song “Zindgi Main Aik Pal Bhi Chain Aye Na” sung by Nahid Niazi and Salim Raza separately. The lyrics were penned by Tanvir Naqvi. Two notable singers who travelled from Bangladesh to East Pakistan to record for Muslehuddin were Sandhiya Mukerji and Hement Kumar. Sandhiya rendered the song “Akhian Chalke Mera Dil Dharke” penned by Shair Siddiqui. The same team recorded another song “Sanwariya O Sanwariya Re” in her voice. The song “Raat Suhani Hae Khoya Khoya Chaand Hai” was sung by Kumar. Its lyrics were contributed by Naqvi. The lilting tune and the deep voice of Kumar mesmerised music lovers. Much later, Faisal, Niazi’s son, along with Muslehuddin remixed and crooned this song with an electronic orchestra which is available on YouTube. Another song written by Naqvi was rendered by Niazi. She joined Raza for the duet “Kuch Tum Ne Suna Kya Main Ne Kaha”. The same team gave the song “Yeh Dil Hai Tera Diwana Tu Kahe Ko Ri Sharmana”. The film had another beautifully composed duet “Tere Jahan Main Hamein Mila Kya” which one could easily hum even in the happiest of spirits. Muslehuddin’s music had the quality of heightening any given emotion on the big screen. Musleh got Kamal and Shamim Ara’s film ‘Zamana Kya Kahega’ which was released on November 17, 1961. He was considered appropriate as a music composer for romantic films. Iqbal Yousaf seemed to be a big admirer of Musleh’s music. Directed by Yousuf, Rukhsana, Lehri and Faizi joined as the leading pair. The song that is considered as a romantic representative melody of Musleh and is even admired today is “Raat Saloni Aai, Baat Anokhi Laai, Jo Hum Kisi Se Na Kahenge” by Niazi and Ahmed Rushdi. This song too has been remixed by Niazi and Musleh many years later. Produced by FM Sardar, this movie was directed by Yousaf. Fayyaz Hashmi penned the lyrics of the songs. Siraj Khan in his submission, states “Raat Saloni Ayi” and the title song of ‘Dil Ne Tujhe Maan Liya’ were all breezy and catchy tunes which entirely captured the romantic spirit. Musleh made another unique experiment in this film. An Arabic tune with Arabic lines, Ra-aetus Sabihan Ala Qasrin Mutafazzilan Badrun Wahilala, incorporating African bongo drum beats, was rendered brilliantly by Najma Niazi. By now, Muslehuddin’s name and his mellifluous melodies had become synonymous with box office success. Nahid has a different version to offer about Asha Bhosle’s song, which she did with Muslehuddin. She stated that the producers of this film wanted one more song from Musleh without compensating him monetarily. Being a man of principles he stayed away. It was much later discovered that the producers had went to India and had bought one of Bhosle’s songs; one which had been discarded. There was a change of cast in Muslehuddin’s fourth movie ‘Daal Main Kala’. Its actors were Bahar, Muhammad Ali, Kamal, Rukhsana, Faizi, Nirala, and Adeeb. Movie ‘Daal May Kala’ was released on November 3, 1962. It was Adeeb’s debut film. The movie was directed by Yousuf. Nahid rendered two duets with Rushdi; “Gori Bari Yun Baat Kaise Na Khatm” and “Sun Kiya Tum Ne Dil Ji” and also a chorus “Tujhe Kya Khabar Meri Ik Nazar Bari Jadugar”. Muslehuddin’s fifth movie was ‘Dil Ne Tujhay Maan Liya’. Javed Hashmi was the director with cast Zeba, Kamal, Rehana, Muhammad Ali, Nirala, Diljeet Mirza, Kamal Irani and Ghauri. Released on April 12, 1963, this film was a family drama and was produced in Karachi. Muhammad Ali appeared as villain and Zeba was romantically paired with Kamal. Its story was written by Salim Ahmad. Rehan too appeared in the cast with Irani, Diljeet Mirza and Nirala. Its songs were penned by Himayat Ali Sha’air. Nahid crooned “Kaisa Hai Yeh Jahan, Har Qadam Ik Ghum”, “Mukhre Pe Anchal Chanda Pe Badal” and “Samu Alla Qasra Mutafazzala Badru”. The film ‘Yahudi Ki Larki’ was released on April 26, 1963. It was family drama that did average business. Produced by Saghir Jafri, its lyrics were penned by Habib Jalib. The film was directed by Saghir Jafri. Nahid crooned “Ae Aasman Tu In Gardishon Ko” for this film. Its cast was Nayyar Sultana, Darpan, Shahnawaz, Meena Shori, Talish, Ajmal, Nasira, Saqi and Hamaliyawala.
