LARKANA: The establishment of Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation (SIUT) Centre in Larkana has finally taken place for which a ceremony was held late on Wednesday evening. The District administration handed over the documents of the vacant building located near Government Degree College which was previously occupied by Rangers. The documents were received by SIUT Sukkur incharge Dr. Iqbal Daudpoto on behalf of renowned Urologist Dr. Adeeb ul Hassan Rizvi. While addressing the ceremony Dr. Daudpoto said that the best job is to work tirelessly for the benefit of humanity adding in the world the status of Dr. Adeeb Rizvi is just like a Waliullah and he has no match in today’s world. He said even the saints have always served mankind. He said that in the Sukkur Centre as many as 125 dialysis are conducted daily and despite availability of a medical university in Larkana kidney failure patients come to Dr. Rizvi for dialysis and treatment of other related ailments adding it was my wish to work in Larkana as well and today my dream has come true. Dr. Daudpoto said that he will also manage the Larkana Centre along with Sukkur adding working with Dr. Rizvi is indeed a reward for him as he has been associated with him for the last 40 years. Commissioner Larkana Muhammad Abbas Baloch said that it is a great day today that Dr. Rizvi finally agreed to their humble request for opening a centre in Larkana for which citizens must take its ownership because, he added, we are here today but will not be tomorrow. He said the repair & renovation work of the building will soon be carried out. District Council Chairman Khan Muhammad Sangroo said that we Larkanians are very fortunate to have a dialysis centre which will be run by a urologist who is known around the globe adding late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto gave us Chandka Medical College & LINAR (cancer hospital) at the very outset. He assured the participants that he will extend all possible assistance to the centre in future. Mayor Aslam Shaikh said in his speech that PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Nisar Khuhro took efforts for establishment of this centre and assured the audience that he will extend all needed help adding the business community of Larkana will also come forward to provide monetary support. He also announced to rename Rahmatpur Chowk as Dr. Adeebul Hassan Rizvi Chowk. PPP general secretary Khair Muhammad Shaikh said that kidney disease has increased in Larkana and its adjoining districts for which this centre will be of great help. Deputy Commissioner Kashif Ali Tipu said that credit goes to Sindh Government for opening of this centre which will not only benefit the patients of Sindh but of Balochistan as well. Mayor Aslam Shaikh presented a cheque of rupees five lakh on behalf of Faryal Talpur. It must also be mentioned here that a dialysis centre is already working in Chandka Hospital where as many as 40 dialysis patients get the facility in three shifts but due to lack of proper medics, paramedics and other facilities, patients always keep on complaining of mismanagement.
