ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to set-up a national sports university Islamabad. According to details, around Rs 750 million will be spent on the project. The federal government has decided to set-up a state-of-art National Sports University to promote and develop the scope of sports. At the initial stage, around Rs 150 million will be spent on the project in 2017-2018 fiscal year. The work on project will be completed in the next year. Floodlights: Authorities have installed floodlights at the Ayub Park Cricket ground located in Rawalpindi. With the installation of floodlights, over 500 players associated with 11 cricket clubs of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have started practicing at night. The facility has only been provided for Ramazan. However, the Ayub Park Cricket Authorities are considering retaining the system during the remaining months as well. Cricket ground in charge Abdul Rahman said that the facility had been introduced for Ramazan season. Urdu dictionary: The Urdu Lughat (Dictionary) Board, working under National History and Literary Heritage Division, is going to launch a digital Urdu dictionary this month. Head of Urdu Dictionary Board Adeel Abbas Jafri said all the compilation work had been done and sent to Google for approval to make it available on different application stores. The web portal will also be created to facilitate the users, he said. After the development of software, composition and proof-reading have been done. A team of 70 people had worked on this project and completed it in the stipulated time-frame. He said an Urdu dictionary consisting of 22 volumes had already published. “Now we have composed it for Internet and mobile apps under the planning and supervision of Special Assistant to Prime Minister Irfan Siddiqui,” he said.
