SAHIWAL: At least seven persons including five members of a family were killed in separate incidents in Sahiwal on Friday. In the first incident, a family was heading towards Lahore from Sahiwal when a speedy trailer coming from opposite direction skidded off the road and rammed into their car, killing all the five onboard on the car, were killed on the spot while the driver fled the scene. The deceased were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately. Separately, a speeding trailer ploughed into a roadside hotel on Sargodha Road in the Phalia area and killed hotel owner Basher and Aftab Iqbal killed on the spot. The bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The police arrested the dumper driver and registered a case.
