KARACHI: In violation of the Supreme Court orders, the most powerful officer, Nadir Wassan, who is holding the charge of administrator of District Council Karachi, since past couple of years has allegedly been promoting and facilitating officials of other departments in his office, Daily Times has learnt. Nadir Wassan, brother of sitting Sindh Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan and close relative of PPP MNA Nawab Wassan is reportedly disobeying orders of the local government secretary and the District Council Karachi’s nominated Chairman Salman Abdullah Murad, son of late PPP leader, Abdullah Murad, from Malir district. According to sources, the administrator of Karachi District Council is feeding dozens of deputationists and blue-eyed persons, which is a clear violation of the apex court’s orders. “There are around 210 employees of different departments who are still working in city district council while the administrator is giving them cover and informing high-ups that all these deputationists have been repatriated to their original departments”, sources added. The Supreme Court (SC) in Criminal Original Petition no 89/11 and Civil Review Petition no 193/2013 and Service Appeal no 757/2015, clearly ordered that all the officials working on deputation basis shall be repatriated to their original departments. However, Sindh is the only province where influential officers are clearly violating the orders of the apex court, sources said. Sources further said that the administrator of District Council Karachi, after the decision of Supreme Court, had forwarded a letter to the local government secretary seeking its point of view and the matter is pending in files. The move reflected that the administrator was dilly-delaying implementation on the orders of court, sources added.
