KARACHI: British Council for Sindh and Balochistan, Director Robin Davies has highlighted the educational activities and the value of alumni relations.
He said that it is not only connecting ex-students but also for their ‘alma matters’ related to further education development.
He was the chief guest on the launching event of The City School Alumni Association, which was attended by the heads and alumni of The City School, prominent citizens and members of the media. While speaking to Daily Times, Robin Davies expressed that British Council is playing its vital part in education development in different sectors particularly Sindh Education Support Programme funded by European Union (EU).
He said educational linkages at universities’ level, following the curriculum improvement, skill development, and training of teachers including vocational trainings, hospitality and tourism skills and trainings through online teaching practices are vital to achieve education improvement objectives.
While talking to Daily Times, The City School’s Southern Regional Director Shehryar Ahmad said, “The City School is one of the best and largest private school networks in Pakistan and 400 graduates performing their role model in different fields.”
There is a decrease in the literacy rate, out of school children and health indicators, while The City School provides a good combination and environment of values, hospitality and integrity that reinforce the atmosphere of the education, he said.
Shehryar said the alumni having gone through our system over the past four decades, it is essential that we build strong relationships with our alumni providing platform to build a strong alumni community for our collective success.
