
LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has sealed the production unit of New Rahat Bakery over issues pertaining to negligence and unhygienic atmosphere in Garhi Shahu on Saturday.
PFA carried out an operation under the supervision of PFA Operations Director Ayesha Mumtaz to curb the sale of unhygienic and substandard food products across the city. While inspecting the bakery’s production unit, the PFA team found rotten eggs among other things that were being used for preparation of bakery products. Ayesha Mumtaz, while taking action, sealed the production unit and announced to register an FIR against the bakery owner in the respective area police station. She said that her team members found rotten eggs, expired oil packets and substandard artificial colours during the raid, adding that the products were unhygienic for consumers and may have caused serious health diseases.
