QUETTA: Southern Command Commander Lieutenant General Aamir Riaz has said that the war on terror would continue till the last terrorist from Pakistan was eliminated. He said this while addressing a tribal jirga in Zhob, which was attended by tribal chiefs and elders from the Pashtoon and Baloch tribes. Garrison Commander Major General Abid Lateef and senior military officials were also present on the occasion. The commander was accorded a warm welcome as a traditional tribal turban was put on him by the tribal elders upon his arrival. Addressing the tribal elders, he said that the current scenario demanded promotions of harmony and brotherhood and to make joint efforts against the anti-peace elements. He said that the tribesmen had always supported the security forces to strengthen the defense of the country at borders. “We are proud of Pashtoon and Baloch tribesmen, who lost their lives to make the defence of Pakistan stronger,” he said. Lt General Riaz said that the tribesmen should also play their role in the war on terror, which is aimed at making Balochistan a peaceful and an economically thriving province. He said that the army and other security forces and tribes would continue their role in achieving progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
