QUETTA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday chaired an emergency meeting where he was briefed on the situation following the deadly blasts of Quetta. Balochistan Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha briefed the prime minister on the situation. The meeting was attended by Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Sanaullah Zahri, Commander Southern Command General Amir Riaz, ISPR Director General Asim Bajwa, PM’s National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, Military Operations DG and Military Intelligence DG. Earlier, after his arrival, the prime minister visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and inquired after the victims of the terror attack. He also prayed for early recovery of those injured in the deadly blast. – Presidential message – Meanwhile in Islamabad, President Mamnoon Hussain strongly condemning the Quetta blast said that the terrorists can never deter the government’s on-going operation against them. He vowed to deal terrorists with iron hand, a President House statement said. He expressed profound grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the tragic incident and extended condolences to the bereaved families of lawyers, journalists and others who lost their lives in the bomb blast. President Mamnoon directed the authorities concerned to provide best medical treatment to all injured in the incident.
