ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has admitted for hearing the petition filed by the owners of a flat for becoming a party in the case of the cancellation of lease of the multi-storey Grand Hayat Hotel building. The court has also ordered for clubbing and hearing at a time all the petitions in connection with the case of the lease cancellation of the under construction multi-storey five star hotel. A single bench of the IHC, led by Justice Athar Minallah, took up the case for hearing on Thursday. Barrister Khurram Hashmi, counsel for the petitioners (The owners of the flats) appeared in the court. The counsel for the petitioners told the court that the owners of the flats were being affected directly due to the cancellation of the lease of the hotel. An agreement has been reached between the CDA and the hotel management. If laws were breached and dues were not paid then the CDA should have taken notice earlier in this regard. He said that his clients were being affected directly. “We want to become a party in this case. The court should hear us”, they said.He prayed the court to provide justice to all the affected persons. The court remarked: ” The court will review all the matters and the decision will be given as per law. The court, while admitting the petition ordered for clubbing all the petitions and the hearing of all of them at a time. The hearing of the case was adjourned till September 7.
