ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has directed the Sindh High Court (SHC) to bring an end to Ayyan Ali’s case of removing her name from the Exit Control List (ECL) till October 3. A three member bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case. Ayyan Ali’s counsel – former governor Punjab Sardar Latif Khan Khosa – argued that the apex court directed SHC on June 30 to take the decision within 14 days in the currency smuggling case. He said the SHC did not take decision in the case despite the apex court’s orders – which point to deliberate and willful violation. The counsel said that his client was being forced to pay compensation amounting to $1 million for not completing the contract.
