ISLAMABAD: Once again female students clinched top positions in annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC-II) matriculation examination results of Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) released on Wednesday.
According to the result, seven students got first three positions while six out of them were girls. The total of 85140 students had appeared in the exam and out of them 70969 were declared successful. The result shows that overall passing students’ percentage was remained at 83.36. Beside topers, the overall result was also dominated by the female students.
The female couple of students who got their top positions in the exam were Qandeel khurshid of Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) I- 10/4 and Shehzeen Tariq of Connoisseur Grammar School SYSTEM Queen Road Sargodha Cantt bagged first two positions. They both secured 1034 marks out of 1050.
Second position was shared by Momina Bashir of Army Public school for Girls 52-Tufail Road Lahore Cant and Wajeeha Irfan of Army public school and College 208 Hamayun Road Rawalpindi Cant with obtaining 1032 marks. Third position was shared by three students who secured 1031 marks. They were Mohammad Maheer Mubashir of Iqra Grammar School, Farooq Colony, Sargodha, Zahra Nawaz of The Educators High School Peshawar Road Rawalpindi and Isbah Iftikhar of Hamza Army public school , Hamza Camp Rawalpindi .
In Humanities Group Muhammad Awais Afzal of Askaria college Rawalpindi Cantt topped with 980 marks. Second position went to Muhammad Sudais of Institute of Islamic sciences Satra Meel Islamabad who secured 958 marks. Zahra jabeen of Pakistan international school, Jeddah Saudi Arabia secured 951 marks and bagged third position.
While appreciation the successful students, Minister Baligh ur Rehman said all position holders will be awarded cash prizes and laptops. They will also be financially helped to continue higher education.
He said ministry has prepared New curriculum of primary level that will be modern and according to the new emerging standards. As it has been prepared after comparatively studies of all best curriculum. He advised student not to be decieved by the forces spreading hopelessness and negativity. ‘ you must not listen to those asking you break laws and showing you path of civil disobedience to get power. You should remain peaceful and always follow rules and laws of the country.’
The minister also said that government will also facilitate students having financial compulsions to continue their education. He said along with successful stories the education system is facing some challenges as still a large number of students are out of school. He said FBISE has brought impressive changes by introducing new technologies in the system.
On the occasion, the Minister also supported the students who didn’t pass the exam in first attempt and directed them to work hard.
